EA SPORTS FC 27 has been out worldwide since September 25, 2026, and the first wave of post-launch support has arrived. In the space of a few days, EA Vancouver and EA Romania shipped Title Update 1.0.3, published developer updates for The Grounds and Ultimate Team, and confirmed which problems are still under investigation. Here is what changed, what is still broken, and what EA says comes next.

Title Update 1.0.3: The Key Fixes

Update 1.0.3 went live on October 2, 2026. It is a minor patch with no gameplay balance changes, but it fixes one bug that Career Mode players had been complaining about since launch.

  • Career Mode: Players could secretly request a transfer without sending any messages or complaints first, even when their morale was high. That behavior is now fixed.

  • Ultimate Team: Loading screen problems in Moments challenges are resolved, female managers now appear correctly in cutscenes, and Squad Battles no longer changes match settings on its own.

  • The Grounds: Matchmaking is more reliable, 5-Star Skill Moves work as intended, and players no longer get stuck colliding with walls.

  • General: Stadium themes, kits and text were updated, stability improved, and a bug that duplicated players when moving them out of the Club Transfers menu is gone.

The lack of balance changes is deliberate. In September, EA said it does not plan significant gameplay balance changes in early Title Updates, so players have time to learn the new mechanics before the meta is adjusted. That is a different approach from FC 24, FC 25 and FC 26, which all saw major gameplay shifts soon after launch.

The Grounds: Matchmaking Is the Main Problem

The Grounds is FC 27's biggest new feature. It is a social hub with three districts inspired by Paris, Buenos Aires and suburban Britain, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. It hosts small-sided football such as 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 matches and In-World Rush.

In its October 2 developer update, EA said small-sided football is busy, but Kickabout matchmaking struggles when not enough players are online, which makes some activities hard to join. EA is looking at three fixes:

  • Winner Stays: letting the winning side stay on the pitch and officially tracking win streaks.

  • Better Kickabout matchmaking: linking players across servers and flagging pitches that need more teammates.

  • Scheduled events: official Kickabout sessions at set times to bring players together.

Several known issues are still open. Goalkeepers can behave erratically in 1v1 matches, some Archetype Point costs are wrong, and portals and map functions have glitches. EA is testing fixes but has not given dates. Slow and unresponsive menus in The Grounds are also under investigation.

Clubs: Long-Term Fatigue Is Back

Title Update 1.0.1 brought back long-term fatigue in 11v11 Clubs matches. Players had pointed out that near-unlimited stamina favored large clubs that could rotate full squads over smaller groups. EA also fixed latency problems that hit some cross-region Clubs games.

Ultimate Team: Early Numbers and Plans

The October 1 FUT developer update included some early figures. Coin balances are more than 50% higher than at the same point last year, and more than 350,000 players have linked their EA Account to community sites such as FUT.GG, FUTBIN and FUTWIZ. Live Events are now the third most-played FUT mode, behind Rivals and Squad Battles.

EA also highlighted changes it says players have welcomed. Squad Building Challenges are streamlined, the Store has fewer and more focused offers, and campaign squads are smaller with tighter rating spreads. Since September 28, streamlined SBCs can also be completed in the Companion App. Planned updates include new PvE Live Event features, expanded end-of-match rewards later in the year, and new Sets and Token Store content for the FUT Gallery. You can read every update in the official EA SPORTS FC 27 news hub.

When will EA change FC 27 gameplay balance?

EA has not given a date. It said it does not plan significant balance changes in early Title Updates so the gameplay has time to settle.
