Final Fantasy VII Revelation Is Coming to Xbox on Day One in Spring 2027

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is officially coming to Xbox on day one, and that is huge news for RPG fans. Square Enix confirmed that the final game in the FF7 remake trilogy will launch in Spring 2027 across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

This matters because earlier games in the remake trilogy did not launch on Xbox at the same time. With Revelation, Xbox players will finally be able to start the new chapter on release day instead of waiting months or even years.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation Xbox release confirmed

Final Fantasy VII Revelation was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026 as the final chapter in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. The game will release in Spring 2027 and will launch at the same time across several platforms.

According to published reports, the confirmed platforms are PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox PC. This makes Revelation one of the biggest Square Enix multi-platform launches in recent years.

Why Final Fantasy VII Revelation on Xbox matters

For Xbox fans, this is more than just another game announcement. It is the first time the final part of the FF7 remake project will arrive on Xbox on day one instead of coming later after a period of exclusivity.

That is important because Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth had a long history of delayed Xbox releases. Coverage earlier in 2026 noted that Rebirth was coming to Xbox on June 3, 2026, while the first remake only reached Xbox after a long wait, so Revelation marks a major shift in how Square Enix is handling the franchise.

What Square Enix said

Game director Naoki Hamaguchi said Final Fantasy VII Revelation will launch simultaneously across all platforms in Spring 2027. He also explained that the story will focus on “resolve,” with Cloud and his companions moving toward the final battle that will decide the planet’s fate.

This confirms that Revelation is being positioned as the emotional ending to the remake trilogy. Square Enix is clearly presenting the game as the biggest and most important chapter in the project.

Platforms and Xbox Play Anywhere possibility

The game has been listed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC, which is notable, as some reports suggest it could indicate support for Xbox Play Anywhere. That feature has also been associated with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Xbox platforms.

While full feature details are still limited, Xbox users should pay attention to future updates on cross-buy, cloud support, and PC syncing. For now, the key confirmed fact is that Xbox players are no longer being left behind for this final entry.

What this means for the Final Fantasy series

This launch strongly suggests that Square Enix has moved away from its earlier PlayStation-first approach for the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. Multiple reports say the publisher is now focused on broader releases across more platforms, and Revelation is the clearest example yet.

That is good news for players, especially people who game on Xbox and PC. It also gives the title a better chance to reach a much larger audience on release day, which could make Final Fantasy VII Revelation one of the biggest RPG launches of 2027.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation release date

Right now, Square Enix has only confirmed a Spring 2027 release window for Final Fantasy VII Revelation. A specific launch date has not been announced yet.

Until then, fans can expect more trailers, gameplay details, and pre-order news closer to launch. Summer Game Fest was only the first big step in the game’s marketing cycle.

Why is this Story Trending

This news is getting so much attention because Final Fantasy and Xbox fans have waited years for a day-one release in the FF7 remake series. Revelation breaks that pattern and turns what used to be a delayed launch story into a same-day global release story.

It also reflects a broader shift in the industry, where publishers want to launch on more platforms at once rather than limit major games to a single console ecosystem. That broader release strategy makes announcements like this much more important for players and for search interest online.
