11-11: Memories Retold is a story-driven adventure game co-developed by Aardman Animations and DigixArt and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It launched in November 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The game opens on November 11, 1916. Harry, a young Canadian photographer, enlists to reach the Western Front, while Kurt, a German engineer, sets out to find his son, who has been reported missing in action. Their paths cross, and the story shows the war from both sides of the trenches, from training camps to the battlefields of Vimy Ridge and Passchendaele.
You switch between Harry and Kurt as you explore, talk to other characters, and make small choices that shape how their stories end. Harry uses his camera to take photographs along the way, and Kurt relies on his technical skills. The pace is slow and reflective, with light puzzles rather than combat.
The visual style looks like a moving oil painting, created by the studio behind Wallace and Gromit. Elijah Wood voices Harry and Sebastian Koch voices Kurt, with an orchestral score by composer Olivier Deriviere.
It is a single-player game that suits players who enjoy emotional, character-focused stories, history, and art-driven adventures that can be finished in a few evenings.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game needs a 64-bit version of Windows 7, 8.1, or 10.
PS4 and Xbox One: Console codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network or a Microsoft account. There are no native PS5 or Xbox Series X|S versions.
DLC: An optional War Child Charity DLC is sold separately and requires the base game.
