1666: Amsterdam is a third-person, story-led action-adventure developed and published by Panache Digital Games, the studio founded by Patrice Désilets and known for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. It entered Early Access on PC through Steam on August 25, 2026.

The game is set in Amsterdam in 1666. Ancient beings called the Originals have lived for centuries behind human faces. You play as Noa Brooklyn, born the Collector and raised by the Zaindaris to take their power back. The Originals were granted time and power long ago, and now that debt has come due.

Days are for investigation. You explore a handcrafted Amsterdam, study its gablestones, and work out which citizens are Originals in disguise. At night, during the Esbat, you face them in their true form under the moon.

Noa uses witchcraft and spellcasting, and each target can be approached in more than one way. You can also switch to Aaron, a man from 1999 who now sees the world through the eyes of a cat, for a very different playstyle. The two characters work as a pair, with Noa handling witchcraft and confrontations while Aaron offers a lighter, four-legged view of the city.

The game is single-player and suits players who like dark, narrative-driven adventures. As an Early Access title, content and features may change before full release. Steam lists full English audio, with interface text in several other languages.

Which version should you buy?

• PC (Steam): Keys activate on Steam. The game is currently PC only.

• Early Access: You buy into an unfinished game that is still being developed.

• Hardware: An SSD and a ray tracing capable GPU with 8 GB VRAM are required.
