Absolute Tactics: Daughters of Mercy is a turn-based tactical RPG developed by Curious Fate and published by Akupara Games. It launched on September 15, 2022 for PC and Nintendo Switch, with PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions released later.

You follow Huxley and his dog Max as they gather a band of friends to defend their home from the armies of Father Eldritch. Battles play out on hand-crafted grid maps, where unit placement, terrain height, and timing decide each fight. Between battles, you follow a story told through dialogue with a colorful cast of allies and enemies.

Character building is a big part of the game. There are 21 classes, and units can dual class, which allows a wide range of ability combinations. Casual players can stick to simple setups, while dedicated tactics fans can fine-tune every unit in their party. You also collect loot, unlock upgrades, and complete side quests for the cast of characters you meet.

The game mixes up the usual tactics formula with large war levels that put dozens of units on the field at once, plus puzzles, traps, and enormous boss monsters. Dozens of story maps are joined by optional maps, post-game content, and a horde mode.

There are three difficulty levels and a hardcore mode that unlocks after you finish the game. It is a single-player game that suits fans of Final Fantasy Tactics-style RPGs and players new to the genre alike.
