Alan Wake Remastered is the updated release of Remedy Entertainment's 2010 psychological action thriller, published by Epic Games Publishing. It launched in October 2021 on PC through the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and came to Nintendo Switch in October 2022. The remaster improves cutscenes, character models and environments for modern hardware while keeping the original story and gameplay.
You play Alan Wake, a best-selling author with writer's block who travels to the small town of Bright Falls in the Pacific Northwest with his wife Alice. When Alice vanishes, Wake finds pages of a horror story he does not remember writing, and the events on those pages start to come true. The game is split into TV-style episodes. Combat is built around light: you burn away the darkness that shields the Taken with your flashlight before finishing them with firearms, and use flares, flashbangs and street lights to survive. The package includes both expansions, The Signal and The Writer, which continue the story after the main game.
An Alan Wake Remastered CD key is the cheapest way to catch up on the story before the 2023 sequel. Read more on the official Alan Wake Remastered page, and see our comparison of CD keys vs official stores to understand how key prices compare.
