Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is a relaxed exploration game developed and published by ustwo games, the BAFTA-winning studio behind Monument Valley. It released on PC in December 2020, then came to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on June 9, 2021.

You play as Alba, a young girl spending the summer with her grandparents on a Mediterranean island. She plans a quiet holiday of animal spotting with her friend Ines, but when she finds wildlife in danger she decides to act.

The main loop is exploring the island with your phone camera. You photograph and identify the many species that live there, clean up litter, repair broken spots in the environment, and help animals in trouble. Her grandfather, a keen birdwatcher, helps along the way. Filling the in-game wildlife guide with every single species becomes a satisfying goal of its own.

To make a bigger difference, Alba and Ines start a wildlife rescue league. You help townspeople with small tasks to win them over as volunteers, and together you push back against a plan that threatens the local nature reserve. Each small good deed you complete makes the town a little friendlier and the island a little healthier.

There is no timer and no fail state, so you can play at your own pace. It is a short single-player game that suits families, younger players, and anyone who enjoys calm, positive adventures.
