Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is a 2D platformer remake developed by Jankenteam and published by Merge Games. It released on June 22, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, rebuilding SEGA's 1986 Master System classic with new art and smoother controls.
You guide Alex through the Kingdom of Radaxian, punching rocks, collecting coins and riding vehicles such as a motorbike and a pedicopter. The goal is to defeat Janken the Great and restore peace, using the money you collect to buy items in shops along the way.
The remake keeps every original level and adds brand-new stages that expand the game's lore. Boss fights have been reworked with clearer mechanics, while the famous rock, paper, scissors duels remain part of the experience.
One standout feature is the retro switch. At any moment, you can press a button to flip between the new hand-drawn visuals and a recreation of the original 8-bit look. Classic Mode replicates the Master System version's levels, dialogue and rules, and Boss Rush Mode lets you fight the bosses back to back. The soundtrack mixes reimagined tracks with remastered originals.
This is a single-player game. It suits retro fans who remember the original, as well as newer players who want a short, challenging platformer with a nostalgic style. Achievements and cloud saves are supported on Steam.
Activation: PC keys activate on Steam; console versions are redeemed on PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store or Nintendo eShop.
Region: Console codes are often region-locked, so match the code region to your account.
Check the activation platform and region on each offer before buying, and read how to activate your CD key if you are new to digital keys. You can learn more on the official Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX page.
