Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a third-person open-world survival game developed by Panache Digital Games, the studio founded by Assassin's Creed creator Patrice Désilets, and published by Private Division. It first launched on PC in August 2019, followed by PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
The game covers the story of human evolution. Your journey begins in Neogene Africa around 10 million years ago, and over many generations you guide a clan of early hominids toward becoming a more advanced species, up to about 2 million years ago.
Survival comes first. You must eat, drink, and sleep, treat injuries and poisoning, and avoid predators such as big cats, snakes, and crocodiles. The world is beautiful but unforgiving, from dense jungles to open savannah grasslands.
Progress comes through exploration and learning. Your hominids discover new skills by interacting with the world, such as making tools or improving their senses. You choose which abilities to unlock and pass down to future generations, and you can make evolutionary leaps that move your species forward in time.
The game offers very little hand-holding, which suits players who enjoy discovery and experimentation. It is a single-player experience. Compare Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey key prices on CDKeyCompares, then follow our guide on how to activate your CD key.
