Ash of Gods: Redemption is a story-driven, turn-based tactical RPG developed by AurumDust. It was released on PC on March 23, 2018, and later arrived on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It is often compared to The Banner Saga because of its hand-drawn art and choice-heavy storytelling.
The story follows three separate protagonists: Captain Thorn Brenin, the bodyguard Lo Pheng, and the scribe Hopper Rouley. Each becomes caught up in the return of the reapers, an ancient threat once thought to be folklore, who plan to drown the world in blood to awaken the sleeping gods.
Choices carry real weight. The narrative changes based on your decisions, and any character can die, including the main heroes. A death does not end the game. Instead, the story continues without that character, and your earlier choices keep shaping what happens next.
Combat blends traditional turn-based tactics on a grid with collectible card game elements. You position units, manage health and energy, and play cards that can turn the tide of a fight. Between battles, you manage your party and resources as you travel.
