Aztecs: The Last Sun is a survival city-building strategy game developed by Play2Chill and published by Toplitz Productions. It released on PC via Steam on May 22, 2026.
You play as the Tlatoani, ruler of Tenochtitlan, building a city on the waters of Lake Texcoco. The core loop mixes construction, resource management and survival: raise more than 25 building types, upgrade them across four levels, dig canals and reclaim land from the marsh.
Religion is a central system. Rituals and offerings earn divine protection, while ignoring the gods costs Grace and invites disaster. A strategic map lets you send expeditions, secure resources, set up trade routes and recruit new citizens from distant settlements.
The story campaign follows a long war against the Moon Goddess and her generals, centered on raising the Sun Pillar to bring back the sun. It offers four difficulty levels, from Relaxed to the punishing Doom. Sandbox mode keeps the survival challenge without the story, and Creative mode removes pressure for free building.
It suits city-builder fans who want a historical setting with myth-driven stakes and a single-player focus.
Nights bring added danger, so planning defenses and stockpiling supplies before dark is part of the survival layer. The city grows from a small island settlement into a dense capital with temples, academies and gardens, and every expansion must be balanced against food, materials and divine favor. Expeditions beyond the valley add a second layer of planning, since resources and recruits from distant settlements feed back into the capital.
Steam key: PC keys activate on Steam for Windows.
Extras: A Digital Supporter Pack and soundtrack are sold separately and need the base game.
