Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a story-driven action RPG developed by DON'T NOD and published by Focus Entertainment. It released on February 12, 2024. The studio previously made Life is Strange and the vampire RPG Vampyr, and Banishers follows the same focus on moral choice inside a dark, character-led setting.
The year is 1695, and the settlers of New Eden live under a deadly curse. You play two Banishers, Red mac Raith and Antea Duarte, spirit hunters bound by an oath to protect the living from lingering ghosts. When Antea is killed and returns as a spirit, the central choice takes shape: honor your oath and ascend her soul, or sacrifice the living to try to bring her back. Each haunting case ends with a verdict to blame, banish or ascend, and those decisions shape the fate of New Eden and the ending you reach.
Combat lets you switch between Red's physical weapons and Antea's spectral powers, with gear upgrades and skill trees to deepen both. Between fights you explore the settlement, investigate cases and gather resources. It suits players who want a mature, single-player RPG with consequences rather than a loot grind. A Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden CD key unlocks the full game on Steam, and the official Steam page lists current DLC.
Two Playable Banishers: Switch between Red's physical arsenal and Antea's supernatural abilities in the same fight to build combos.
Blame, Banish or Ascend: Close each haunting case with a verdict that decides the fate of the living and the dead.
Consequential Love Story: Choose between upholding your oath to ascend Antea or sacrificing others to restore her, with outcomes that change the ending.
1695 New Eden Setting: Explore a cursed North American colony with varied landscapes and settlers carrying dark secrets.
Gear and Skill Trees: Find artifacts, trinkets and resources to upgrade equipment, and progress Antea's skill trees to unlock new spectral combos.
