Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a turn-based role-playing game developed by Airship Syndicate and published by THQ Nordic. It released on October 3, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, followed by a Nintendo Switch version. The PC release also runs on macOS and Linux through Steam.

The game is based on the Battle Chasers comic book series from the late 1990s. After an airship crash, the heroes are stranded on a mysterious island and must fight their way across it. You explore a hand-drawn overworld map full of hidden dungeons, rare bosses and random encounters.

Combat follows a classic JRPG format with a twist. An overcharge system builds extra mana from regular attacks, so you can spend it on stronger abilities without draining your normal mana pool. Each hero also has Battle Bursts, powerful moves that charge up over a fight.

You pick three of six heroes to form your active party, and each one has unique perks, items and dungeon skills. Dungeons are randomly generated and packed with traps, puzzles and loot. A deep crafting system lets you overload ingredients to create better gear, and side activities such as fishing and an arena add variety.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a single-player game. It suits fans of classic turn-based RPGs, dungeon crawlers and players who like comic book art and party building.
