Becastled is a city-building and tower defense strategy game developed by Mana Potion Studios and co-published with Pingle Studio. After a period in Early Access, the full version released on Steam on October 22, 2025, alongside versions for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
The game runs on a day and night cycle. By day you gather wood and iron, lay roads, farms and markets, and raise walls, towers and gates. At sunset the Moon Beasts attack with battering rams, siege towers and even dragons, and you command archers, swordsmen, pikemen and siege weapons until dawn.
Happiness matters as much as stone. Taverns and decorations keep subjects content, while noisy industry lowers morale, and content villagers work and fight better. If the walls fall, every villager can be rallied to defend the keep.
Terrain and seasons add another layer. Hills, rivers and forests can protect your city, but a river that blocks enemies in summer can freeze into a bridge in winter. Mining Sunstone lets you expand into new land and unlock stronger buildings.
Each run asks you to balance growth against safety. Expanding too fast stretches your walls thin, while turtling behind a small keep limits the resources you need for stronger troops and buildings. Waves grow tougher over time, so every new district, gate and tower has to be planned with the next night in mind.
Becastled is single-player, includes Steam Workshop support and a level editor on PC, and suits players who enjoy games like Kingdoms and Castles or They Are Billions but want a calmer building phase.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam and include Workshop and level editor support.
Console: PlayStation, Xbox and Switch versions redeem on PSN, a Microsoft account or the Nintendo eShop, so check the platform on each offer.
