Blood West is an immersive stealth first-person shooter developed by Hyperstrange and published by New Blood Interactive and Hyperstrange. It fully launched on PC on December 5, 2023, and reached PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 16, 2025.

You play the Undead Gunslinger, cursed to roam the Barren Lands until he can purge their corruption and free his soul. The setting blends gunslinger pulp with Lovecraftian horror, so occult magic is as dangerous as a bullet.

The game rewards a careful approach: scout an area, stalk enemies and strike from the shadows. It takes inspiration from Thief and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and Stephen Russell, the voice of Thief's Garrett, voices the protagonist. You can still go in guns blazing with revolvers, rifles, shotguns, bows and melee weapons.

Three open-ended scenarios, the Canyons, the Swamp and the Mountains, let you explore at your own pace. The game does not hold your hand, so you find your own routes, hidden stashes and side quests from fully voiced NPCs. A perk-based progression system and slot-in artifacts let you build a stealth hunter, a fast gunman or a melee berserker.

Steam estimates over 20 hours to finish all three scenarios and more than 35 to see everything. It suits players who enjoy immersive sims, stealth shooters and dark, atmospheric horror with real challenge.
