Blossom Tales II: The Minotaur Prince is a top-down action adventure developed by Castle Pixel and published by Playtonic Friends. It released on August 16, 2022 for PC and Nintendo Switch, and on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in October 2023. The Steam version also runs on Linux.
Lily returns in a new story set hundreds of years after Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King. The Minotaur King is back, her brother is in danger, and it is partly her fault. Grandpa narrates the adventure as a story within a story, often with funny twists.
Gameplay follows the classic 2D formula: explore an open world, fight enemies, find new weapons and abilities, and clear dungeons. Dozens of mini-dungeons, caves, and hidden spots reward curious players. Combat starts with simple sword attacks and grows as you collect new weapons and abilities that open paths you could not reach before.
The world includes charming towns, haunted forests, and pirate shores, along with tricky puzzles and side quests. Some choices influence story events, and the main adventure runs more than 15 hours. It is a single-player game. Tougher enemies guard key areas and test the skills you have picked up along the way.
It suits fans of retro Zelda-style adventures, pixel art, and lighthearted stories. The Steam release supports full controller play, cloud saves, and achievements.
PC: Most PC keys activate on Steam.
Consoles: Switch codes are redeemed on the Nintendo eShop and Xbox codes on a Microsoft account. There is no PlayStation version.
Earlier game: Playing the first Blossom Tales is optional, since this sequel tells a new story.
