Cassette Boy is a puzzle action RPG developed by Wonderland Kazakiri and published by Pocketpair Publishing. It released in January 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, with a Mac version on Steam.
The idea comes from a quantum mechanics question: does the moon stop existing when nobody looks at it? In Cassette Boy, anything you cannot see does not exist. The world looks like classic 2D pixel art, but it is really a 3D space you can rotate at any time.
Turning the camera is the core puzzle tool. Rotate the view to hide a wall so it disappears, line up platforms to reveal a new path, or change perspective to trigger switches and secrets. Many rooms layer several of these tricks together.
Between puzzles you fight monsters and bosses with a sword and bow, collect new weapons and gear, and meet an odd cast of characters whose stories fill in the mystery of the vanished moon.
Exploration rewards curiosity. Paths, items and secrets that stay hidden from one angle can appear from another, so it pays to rotate each area and look at it from every side before moving on. New equipment found along the way also widens your options for both exploring and fighting.
The game is single-player and supports full controller play. It suits fans of Zelda-like adventures, Fez-style perspective puzzles and short, clever indie RPGs.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam and support Windows and macOS.
Console: PlayStation, Xbox and Switch codes redeem on PSN, a Microsoft account or the Nintendo eShop, so check the platform on each offer.
Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, and read how to activate your CD key if you need help. More details are on the official Cassette Boy website.
