Castlevania Advance Collection is a compilation of four classic Castlevania games, developed by M2 and published by Konami. It was released on September 23, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Three of the games first appeared on the Game Boy Advance. Circle of the Moon follows vampire hunter Nathan Graves and uses the Dual Set-up System, which combines cards to create more than 80 spell effects. Harmony of Dissonance stars Juste Belmont and adds Spell Fusion, which mixes sub-weapons with spell books. Aria of Sorrow, set in 2035, follows Soma Cruz and introduces the Tactical Soul system, which lets him absorb enemy powers.

The fourth game is Castlevania: Dracula X, the Super Nintendo version of Rondo of Blood, a more traditional level-based action platformer with Richter Belmont.

All four games are side-scrolling, single-player adventures. The three Game Boy Advance titles follow the exploration style made famous by Symphony of the Night: a large castle to map out, items and abilities that open new paths, and RPG-style leveling. M2 adds modern features such as rewind, save and load anywhere, and replay recording. There is also an encyclopedia of enemies and items, a music player with every soundtrack, and an option to switch between regional versions of each game.

Castlevania Advance Collection suits fans of exploration-based platformers, players who missed these handheld games the first time, and anyone who wants a gentler way into classic Castlevania with rewind and save states.

Which version should you buy?

• PC: Most PC keys activate on Steam. The collection needs only about 500 MB of storage and runs on almost any modern PC.

• Consoles: PS4 codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network, Xbox One codes on a Microsoft account, and Switch codes on the Nintendo eShop. The PS4 and Xbox One versions also play on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

• What is included: All four games come in one purchase. There is no separate DLC.
