Code Violet is a third-person action horror shooter developed and published by TeamKill Media, the studio behind Quantum Error. Built in Unreal Engine 5, it was released on January 10, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
You control Violet Sinclair, a woman taken from the past and brought to a research facility on the exoplanet TRAPPIST-1e. When dinosaurs break loose inside the Aion Bioengineering Complex, she arms herself and must fight through the facility to escape.
Gameplay combines third-person gunplay, melee attacks and exploration of tight, horror-style corridors. The studio cited Dino Crisis, Dead Space and Resident Evil as inspirations, and it leans on tense, close-range encounters.
The story is set in the 25th century, after a catastrophe has left Earth a wasteland and the remaining humans have moved to TRAPPIST-1e. It is a single-player campaign with no multiplayer modes.
Critical reception at launch was largely negative, and TeamKill Media released patches in January 2026 that fixed combat issues, bugged items and softlock situations.
Violet starts with only a knife and a gun and gathers more equipment as she moves deeper into the complex, facing dinosaurs throughout. The facility encourages careful exploration of its labs and corridors while you search for a way out and piece together what is really happening on the planet.
It may suit players who want a dinosaur-themed survival action game on PS5 and are curious about modern takes on the Dino Crisis formula.
