Control Resonant is a single-player action RPG developed and published by Remedy Entertainment. It launched on September 24, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a macOS version announced for later in 2026.
The game is a narrative sequel to the 2019 game Control. This time you play as Dylan Faden, brother of FBC Director Jesse Faden. After years in confinement, Dylan steps into a downtown Manhattan taken over by an escaped extradimensional entity, along with the Hiss, the Mold, and other paranatural threats.
Combat moves away from the first game's gunplay and focuses on melee. Dylan's weapon, the Aberrant, shapeshifts into different forms, and he can equip three melee weapons, each built for a different job. Character stats, several talent trees, and customizable weapons let you shape how his powers grow.
Instead of the indoor corridors of the Oldest House, the sequel uses several large outdoor zones with side activities, hidden encounters, and optional discoveries. Remedy describes the structure as open-ended rather than open world. Gravity anomalies bend the city and add new angles to puzzles and fights.
The story is written to be accessible to newcomers, so it suits both returning fans and players who enjoy story-driven action RPGs with strange, supernatural settings. If you want to play the first chapter, see Control Ultimate Edition.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game needs 120 GB of free space on an SSD.
Consoles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network or a Microsoft account. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version.
Digital Deluxe Edition: This edition included 48 hours of early access on PS5. A Digital Deluxe Upgrade is also sold separately on Steam.
Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, and read our guide on how to activate your CD key. For trailers and news, visit the official Remedy Entertainment website.
