Daemon X Machina is a third-person mech action game developed by Marvelous First Studio. It launched on Nintendo Switch on September 13, 2019, published by Nintendo outside Japan, and came to PC on February 13, 2020 through Marvelous and XSEED Games.
You play as an Outer, a mercenary with special abilities who appeared after a disaster called the Moonfall. Working for the Orbital organization, you take contracts to fight the Immortals, AI machines that turned on humanity. Missions are short and focused, and fellow mercenaries can be allies one day and rivals the next.
The core of the game is your Arsenal, a mech you build from swappable arms, legs, body parts, and weapons. You fly, dash, and fire across wide battlefields, then salvage weapons and parts from fallen enemies to use mid-mission. Your pilot can also undergo body modifications that grant new skills.
Big boss fights against Colossal Immortals are a highlight. Outside the campaign, online co-op lets players take on bosses and Exploration Missions together, and Versus Mode offers 1v1 and 2v2 PvP with leaderboards.
The game comes from producer Kenichiro Tsukuda with mech design by Shoji Kawamori. It suits players who enjoy fast mech combat, deep part customization, and building the perfect loadout.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game needs a 64-bit Windows 8.1 or 10 system and 13 GB of storage.
Nintendo Switch: Switch codes are redeemed on the Nintendo eShop. Online play on Switch needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Sequel: The 2025 follow-up has its own page: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion. Make sure a listing is for the original game if that is the one you want.
