Dark Quest 4 is a turn-based strategy RPG and dungeon crawler developed and published by Brain Seal. It launched on November 5, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and it draws direct inspiration from the HeroQuest board game. Steam also lists macOS support for the PC version.
You build a party of heroes and lead them through multi-floor dungeons one turn at a time. Positioning, traps, and limited resources matter, and both magic and weapons come into play against more than 40 monster types. Adjustable difficulty lets newcomers ease in while veterans raise the challenge.
The campaign offers 30 handcrafted quests. Between missions, you train heroes at the Hero Camp, choosing from up to 10 heroes with distinct stats and powers and unlocking new cards and abilities to shape your team. Hand-painted art gives the dungeons the look of a board game brought to life.
The story pits your champions against Gulak, a puppet of the Dark Sorcerer whose monsters are abducting villagers. Friends can join online or in local couch co-op for up to three players, and Creator Mode lets you design dungeons and share quests with the community. Steam Workshop support makes it easy to find and download player-made adventures.
Dark Quest 4 suits tabletop fans, players who enjoy tactical turn-based combat, and groups looking for a cooperative dungeon crawl.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam, which also lists macOS support for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Consoles: PS4 and PS5 codes redeem on PlayStation Network, Xbox codes on a Microsoft account, and Switch codes on the Nintendo eShop.
Co-op: Both online co-op and local couch co-op for up to three players are supported, so one copy can cover a couch session.
