Day of the Shell is a tactical roguelite developed by Duper Games and published by Goblinz Publishing. It launched on July 29, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Its core idea is simple: every turn is a single click. In a shattered, flooded world, you travel from island to island armed with hope and a revolver, surviving monsters and collecting treasure to open each island's portal.
Strategic depth comes from the Warden's blessings. You combine different blessings to build a unique playstyle on each run, deciding whether to challenge or appease the gods along the way.
When you die, you return to your home island, where permanent upgrades help you plan the next attempt. The final goal is to reach the heart of the islands and destroy the Shell. The game is single-player.
Each island is a compact tactical puzzle. Every click moves the action forward one step, so you need to think about enemy positions and your next move before acting. The one-click design keeps runs quick and easy to read, which makes it a good fit for both handheld play and short sessions. Gods and their blessings add variety, since a run built around one blessing can feel very different from the last.
Day of the Shell suits fans of turn-based tactics and roguelites who like short, readable runs that still reward careful planning.
