Dead Rising 3 is an open-world zombie action game developed by Capcom Vancouver. It launched on November 22, 2013 as an Xbox One launch title, and the PC version, Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition, was released by Capcom on September 5, 2014.

The story is set ten years after the Fortune City outbreak of Dead Rising 2. You play as Nick Ramos, a young mechanic trapped in Los Perdidos, a city overrun by zombies. A military strike will wipe the city off the map, so you need to find a way out first.

Almost anything can be used as a weapon. You collect items across the city and combine them into combo weapons, and you can merge vehicles into combo vehicles that plow through the huge crowds of undead.

Nick gains experience by killing zombies and completing missions, which unlocks new abilities and recipes. Optional side missions, survivors to rescue, and psychopath boss fights fill the large open map.

You can play the campaign alone or with a friend in two-player online co-op, with progress carrying back to your single-player game. It suits players who enjoy over-the-top zombie action, crafting, and sandbox exploration.

Which version should you buy?

• PC: PC keys are for the Apocalypse Edition and activate on Steam. It includes all four Untold Stories of Los Perdidos story add-ons.

• Xbox: Xbox One codes are redeemed on a Microsoft account and also play on Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility.
