Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is a 3D arena fighting game developed by CyberConnect2 and published by SEGA. It released on October 15, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, followed by a Nintendo Switch version in 2022.
The Adventure mode lets you relive the anime as Tanjiro Kamado. It covers the story from his entry into the Demon Slayer Corps up to the Mugen Train film with Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, mixing exploration, cutscenes, and boss fights.
Combat is built around two-character teams. You swap partners, chain special moves, and use flashy Breathing techniques recreated from the show. The controls are simple enough for newcomers while still rewarding timing and team combos.
Versus mode offers local and online battles with a roster that includes heroes and demons such as Rui and Akaza. The Steam version also supports split-screen and Remote Play Together.
The Adventure mode follows key episodes closely, using anime-style cutscenes between chapters. Boss battles include quick-time sequences that recreate famous moments, and progress in the story unlocks rewards that carry over to other modes.
Training and practice options help new players learn combos, while ranked online matches give experienced players a place to test their skills against others.
It suits Demon Slayer fans and players who enjoy accessible anime fighters with a strong story mode.
