Destroy All Humans! is an action adventure developed by Black Forest Games and published by THQ Nordic. It is a full remake of the 2005 Pandemic Studios original and launched on July 28, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, followed by a Nintendo Switch version in 2021.
You play as Crypto-137, a Furon soldier sent to 1950s Earth to harvest human DNA for his dying race. Guided by his superior Orthopox, Crypto works through missions across farmland, suburbs, cities, and secret military bases while the US government tries to cover up the invasion.
Combat mixes alien weapons such as the Zap-O-Matic, Disintegrator Ray, and Anal Probe with psychic powers. Psychokinesis lets you throw people, cars, and debris, while the Holobob disguise lets you take on a human form to sneak past guards and read minds. In the open areas, the flying saucer and its Death Ray can level entire blocks.
The remake rebuilds every level in a modern engine, adds skill upgrades and a dash move, and restores a mission that was cut from the original game. The story keeps its satirical take on Cold War paranoia and B-movie sci-fi, with the original voice lines returning.
The game is single-player only. It suits players who enjoy destructive sandbox action, comedy, and a nostalgic return to a mid-2000s classic.
PC: Most PC keys activate on Steam. The game requires a 64-bit Windows 10 system and about 19 GB of storage.
Consoles: Console codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network, a Microsoft account, or the Nintendo eShop. There are no native PS5 or Xbox Series X|S versions, but both consoles play the last-generation release via backward compatibility.
Sequel: Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed is a separate game. Check that a listing is for the first game before buying.
