Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King is a retro platformer collection developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Disney with Nighthawk Interactive. It was released on October 29, 2019 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The package bundles two well-known 1990s side-scrolling platformers. In Aladdin, you run, jump, and fight through Agrabah and the Cave of Wonders to stop Jafar. In The Lion King, you guide Simba from cub to adult across 10 levels, from the elephant graveyard to the wildebeest stampede.
The collection includes several versions of each game from different consoles and handhelds, plus an all-new Final Cut of Aladdin made for this release. Modern helpers such as a rewind feature make the tough original difficulty much easier to manage.
A watch mode lets you jump into a full playthrough at any point and take over, while a museum section collects concept art, behind-the-scenes material, and production history from both games.
This collection suits fans of classic 16-bit platformers, players who grew up with the Disney films, and parents who want to share these retro games with a new generation. Both games are single-player, and there are added display options for setting up the picture the way you like it, on a modern screen or a handheld.
PC: Most PC keys activate on Steam. The game runs on modest hardware with only 3 GB of storage needed.
Consoles: Switch, PS4, and Xbox One codes are redeemed on the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Network, or a Microsoft account.
Disney Classic Games Collection: A later expanded release adds The Jungle Book. Existing owners can upgrade with DLC, so check which product a listing includes.
