Dreams of Another is a narrative third-person action-adventure developed and published by Q-Games, the studio behind PixelJunk. It released on October 10, 2025, for PC and PlayStation 5, with PlayStation VR2 support on PS5.
The game is directed by Baiyon, a musician and multimedia artist, and built around the idea of "no creation without destruction." Instead of breaking things, firing your weapon materializes the dream world around you, turning scattered particles into streets, objects and characters.
Its standout feature is point-cloud rendering, a technique rarely used in games. Every scene is made of millions of particles, which gives the world a painterly, dreamlike look that shifts as you explore.
The story unfolds through conversations with strange characters and talking everyday objects, such as chairs and streetlamps, that reflect on memories and regrets. All conversations can be revisited in the Sentiments menu. It is a single-player experience paced for exploration rather than combat challenge.
It suits players who enjoy art-driven, experimental games and short, reflective stories.
The world responds to how you play. Areas start as faint scatterings of light and slowly take shape as you fire, revealing paths, buildings and the characters who live in each dream. Exploration is unhurried, and the focus stays on discovery, atmosphere and the soundtrack rather than difficult combat. Director Baiyon's background in music and visual art shows in the way sound, color and motion are tied together throughout the game.
On PC, the game offers HDR output and full controller support, with a gamepad recommended. A free demo was released on Steam ahead of launch and is a useful way to see whether the art style suits you.
