DuckTales: Remastered is a 2D action platformer developed by WayForward and published by Capcom. It came out on August 13, 2013 and is a remake of the 1989 NES game DuckTales, based on the Disney cartoon. On this site, keys are listed for the PC version on Steam.

You control Scrooge McDuck, the richest duck in the world, as he travels with his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie to find five legendary treasures. Scrooge bounces on his cane like a pogo stick to defeat enemies, cross spikes, and reach high ledges, and he can swing it like a golf club to hit rocks and open chests.

The remake keeps the original level layout and controls but adds hand-drawn character sprites, painted 3D backgrounds, and a remixed soundtrack. Classic stages such as the Amazon, Transylvania, the African Mines, the Himalayas, and the Moon return, along with new levels in Duckburg and at Mount Vesuvius. Boss fights have new patterns, and you collect diamonds and money to unlock art and music in a gallery.

The game is single-player only. A fully voiced story, with characters from the cartoon, adds dialogue between stages that the NES version did not have. Several difficulty settings, including an Extreme mode, let both newcomers and veterans set the challenge.

DuckTales: Remastered suits fans of retro platformers, players who grew up with the cartoon, and families looking for a short, light game that still rewards skill.

Which version should you buy?

• PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game runs on most systems and needs about 1 to 2 GB of storage.

• Availability: The game was pulled from digital stores in 2019 and returned to Steam in 2020, so older keys should still redeem there.
