Echoes of the End is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Icelandic studio Myrkur Games and published by Deep Silver. It launched on August 12, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

You play as Ryn, a Vestige with rare magical powers, on a journey to rescue her brother and stop a looming war. Exploration mixes traversal across cliffs and ruins with environmental puzzles that use Ryn's abilities to move and manipulate objects.

Combat blends close-range sword fighting with magic, letting you lift, throw and control enemies in battle. Ryn travels with the scholar Abram, and the story unfolds through cinematic scenes and character-driven dialogue.

The world of Aema draws on Icelandic landscapes, from volcanic plains to glacial valleys. It is a single-player experience with no multiplayer or co-op modes.

The game is built in Unreal Engine 5 and leans on detailed environments, motion-captured performances and a fully voiced cast. Ryn's abilities expand as the story progresses, giving you new ways to solve puzzles and approach fights. The campaign follows a mostly linear path with optional side areas to explore, collectibles that reveal more of Aema's hidden history, and set-piece encounters against larger enemies and bosses that test both your swordplay and your magic.
