You play as Mia, a young detective who travels with her dog Lupi into the Perimeter, a strange region that is not supposed to exist. Her father, a leading agent of the Ordo Realitas organization, vanished there, and the trail leads to a group known as the Cult of Fear.

Most of the game is about real investigation. You examine documents and objects up close, collect clues, solve puzzles, and connect what you learn on Mia's mental map. The Perimeter is open and non-linear, so your own deductions decide where you go next.

Danger is never far away. Paranormal creatures and bosses roam the area, and you can fight them or try to slip past quietly. Encounters drain Mia's sanity, and spending time with Lupi helps restore it. Fellow agents, such as the hacker Samuel, can also offer hints when you are stuck on a case.

The visual style mixes pixel art characters with 3D environments. Enigma of Fear suits players who enjoy detective stories, light horror, and exploring at their own pace rather than following a fixed path.
