Fantasian Neo Dimension is a turn-based role-playing game developed by Mistwalker and published by Square Enix. It released on December 5, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, as an expanded version of the 2021 Apple Arcade game Fantasian.
The project reunites Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi with composer Nobuo Uematsu. You play as Leo, who wakes up in a world of machines with only one memory left. A mechanical plague called mechteria is spreading and draining people of their emotions and lives, and Leo must use a Warp Device to travel between dimensions to stop it.
Combat is turn-based, but the twist is aiming. Many skills follow a path you choose, so you can curve attacks to hit as many enemies as possible in one turn. The Dimengeon system lets you send random encounters into another dimension and fight them later in one large battle, so exploration is not constantly interrupted.
The world is built from more than 150 field areas made from physical handmade dioramas blended with CG. Neo Dimension adds English and Japanese voice acting, a Hard difficulty option, 4K support, and the choice to swap battle music for tracks from the Final Fantasy series.
The game is single-player and suits fans of classic Japanese RPGs, Sakaguchi's storytelling, and Uematsu's music.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game needs a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 system and 15 GB of storage.
Consoles: PS5 and PS4 codes redeem on PlayStation Network, Xbox Series X|S codes on a Microsoft account, and Switch codes on the Nintendo eShop.
Content: Neo Dimension is the complete game, including both parts of the original Apple Arcade release plus the new voice acting and Hard mode.
