FAST RMX is a futuristic anti-gravity racing game developed and published by Shin'en Multimedia. It launched on March 3, 2017, as a Nintendo eShop launch title for Nintendo Switch and is the third entry in the FAST series.
Races are built around a polarity system. You switch your vehicle between two colors to collect boost energy and use matching boost strips and jump pads, so changing phase at the right moment is just as important as clean cornering.
The game includes every course from FAST Racing Neo plus new tracks. It launched with 30 courses across 10 cups and 15 unlockable vehicles, and a free update in September 2017 added six more courses, for 36 in total.
Hero Mode raises the difficulty and turns your boost meter into a health bar, while a later free update added Time Attack. Multiplayer supports split-screen for up to four players, plus local wireless and online races for up to eight.
FAST RMX runs at up to 1080p and 60 frames per second when docked and supports HD Rumble, motion controls, single Joy-Con play and the Pro Controller.
Vehicles differ in handling and speed, and unlocking new cups requires finishing in the top three. Tracks feature jumps, hazards and boost strips in both colors, so learning each course and its phase changes is key to winning. The April 2017 update also brought online friend support.
It suits fans of F-Zero and Wipeout-style racers who want a fast, compact download on Switch.
