Fate/Samurai Remnant is an action role-playing game developed by Koei Tecmo's Omega Force team and published by Koei Tecmo, created in collaboration with TYPE-MOON. It was released on September 28, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

The story is set in Edo, Japan, during the early Edo period. Seven Masters summon seven Servants, heroic spirits from history and legend, to fight in the Waxing Moon Ritual, a battle royale that grants the winner any wish. You play as Miyamoto Iori, a young swordsman trained by the famous Miyamoto Musashi, who is pulled into the ritual with his Servant, Saber.

Combat mixes large-scale action with sword technique. Iori switches between several fighting stances inspired by Musashi's teachings, while Saber fights alongside him and can be controlled directly at key moments. Rogue Servants and rival Masters appear as tougher encounters across the city and its surroundings.

Between battles you explore Edo's districts, take on side requests, gather materials, and spend time with allies. Skill upgrades and equipment let you shape how Iori fights, and an Apprentice difficulty helps story-focused players.

The game is single-player only. It suits Fate fans, people who enjoy Koei Tecmo's action games, and anyone interested in a historical Japanese setting told through a fantasy lens. No earlier Fate knowledge is required.
