Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a single-player RPG from Square Enix and the direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII. It first launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and the enhanced Windows PC version arrived on Steam on December 11, 2014. Serah Farron sets out to find her missing sister Lightning, joined by Noel Kreiss, a traveler from a ruined future.
The core loop moves between time-travel exploration and fast, menu-driven combat. Locations change depending on the era you visit, with different scenery, weather and creatures, and the choices you make open new paths through time. Battles build on the Paradigm system of the first game and add Cinematic Action sequences, while more than 150 monsters can be recruited to fill the third party slot.
A Final Fantasy XIII-2 CD key unlocks the PC edition, which bundles a range of the console DLC, English or Japanese voice-over, 60 fps output and adjustable rendering resolution. It suits players who finished the first game and want to continue the trilogy before Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. More details are on the official Steam page.
