Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 is the PlayStation 5 version of Playground Games’ open-world racing game, developed for PS5 by Panic Button in partnership with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games. The game takes place in a large, varied recreation of Mexico with jungles, deserts, beaches, and other biomes, and it features changing weather events such as storms, lightning, and tornadoes. PS5 players get the full game content, including the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions for purchase, and the release is digital only with no disc version planned. The PS5 version supports two rendering modes: Performance mode at 60 FPS and Quality mode at 30 FPS, while PS5 Pro adds ray-traced car reflections in Quality mode and higher-fidelity graphics in Performance mode. DualSense and DualSense Edge features are supported, including vibration and adaptive triggers for wheel slip, threshold braking, and surface changes. Online multiplayer requires an active PlayStation Plus membership, but solo play and offline content are available without it.
