Frosthaven is the video game adaptation of the board game of the same name, created by Isaac Childres. It is a dark fantasy tactical RPG and a spiritual successor to Gloomhaven, developed by Snapshot Games and published by Arc Games for PC.
The game entered Steam Early Access on July 31, 2025. According to the official Steam page, the full 1.0 release is scheduled for October 15, 2026, and will include all content added during Early Access plus new material.
Like the tabletop original, Frosthaven is built around deliberate, turn-based combat. You choose actions from each character's set of ability cards, plan movement and attacks carefully, and manage limited resources across a scenario. Mistakes are punished, so success depends on coordination and planning rather than reflexes.
The setting moves away from Gloomhaven to the unforgiving northern frontier, where your mercenaries face harsh conditions and dangerous enemies. Veterans of the board games will recognize the core systems, while the digital version handles the rules and bookkeeping for you.
