Fury Unleashed is an action roguelite platformer shooter developed and published by Awesome Games Studio, an independent team from Poland. It was released on May 8, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and the Steam version also runs on macOS and Linux.
Each run takes place inside the pages of a comic book, where every room is a panel and ink is your most valuable resource. You run, jump, and shoot through levels built from a mix of hand-designed rooms and procedural generation, pick up weapons and items, and unlock permanent upgrades after each death so the next attempt goes further.
The standout system is the combo. Kill enemies quickly enough and you unleash your fury, a state that lets you tear through rooms without taking damage. Skilled players can chain the whole game into one long combo. Across several visually distinct comic books you face 40 bosses, and the hero's skills and appearance can be customized to match your playstyle.
You can play solo or bring a friend for co-op. On Steam the game supports local split-screen co-op and online co-op. Hard mode tests your skills, while Easy mode lets you adjust difficulty settings. The story follows comic author John Kowalsky, who is in a creative crisis and has lost faith in his own hero.
