Gravitar: Recharged is an arcade space shooter developed by Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox and published by Atari. It released on June 2, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with macOS and Linux support on Steam.
The game reimagines Atari's 1982 arcade original, which combined the rotate, thrust, and fire controls of Asteroids with the gravity of Lunar Lander. You pilot a small ship around planets and space stations guarded by hostile aliens, managing momentum carefully as each world pulls on you with a different strength.
In Arcade mode you clear every mission in a solar system, then travel through a black hole to the next, tougher system on the journey home. A separate Missions mode offers 24 set challenges with global leaderboards, which suits players who like replaying short runs for better scores.
Two players can share the screen in local co-op. The art direction moves the Recharged series toward painterly environments with pastel tones, and composer Megan McDuffee provides a calm, atmospheric soundtrack that contrasts with the tense flying.
Gravitar: Recharged suits fans of classic arcade games, physics-based flying, and high-score chasing in short sessions. Its demanding controls reward practice more than reflexes alone.
PC: Most PC keys activate on Steam. The game is light, needing about 400 MB of storage, and runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Consoles: PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network, a Microsoft account, or the Nintendo eShop. Check which console a listing covers.
Series: Gravitar: Recharged is a standalone game in Atari's Recharged line and needs no other purchase.
