GRIS is a 2D platform adventure developed by Nomada Studio and published by Devolver Digital. It launched on December 13, 2018 for PC, macOS, and Nintendo Switch, then came to PlayStation 4 and later to PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
You follow Gris, a young woman lost in her own world after a painful experience. Her journey through sorrow is told without dialogue. As she heals, color returns to the world, and her dress gains abilities that open new paths.
Gameplay mixes light platforming, environmental puzzles, and optional collectibles. The dress can turn into a heavy block to break floors or resist wind, and later abilities add double jumps, swimming, and singing to change the world around you.
GRIS is free of danger and death, so the focus stays on mood, art, and music. The watercolor visuals by artist Conrad Roset and the score by Berlinist are the main reasons the game won wide praise.
It is a single-player game that suits players who want a calm, short, emotional experience, and anyone who loves art-driven indies. Because it uses almost no text, it can be enjoyed in any language, and hidden areas reward players who take time to explore every corner.
PC and Mac: Most PC keys activate on Steam. GRIS runs on very modest hardware and needs about 4 GB of storage.
Consoles: Console codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network, a Microsoft account, or the Nintendo eShop. Match the code to your console and region.
Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, then follow our guide on how to activate your CD key. If you enjoy it, the studio's follow-up Neva is also listed. Learn more on the official Nomada Studio website.
