High On Life is a single-player comedy first-person shooter developed and published by Squanch Games. It released on December 13, 2022 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, followed by PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2023, Nintendo Switch in 2025, and Nintendo Switch 2 in August 2025.

An alien cartel plans to use humans as a drug, and a fresh high school graduate becomes an intergalactic bounty hunter to stop it. Each bounty sends you to a new alien world to track down a cartel boss. Between jobs you return to a shared house in Blim City, where your sister and a washed-up bounty hunter named Gene live with you.

Your weapons are Gatlians, talking guns with their own personalities, jokes, and opinions. Each one has a different firing style and a special ability, such as slowing time or launching enemies into the air. You also unlock gear that opens new paths, so earlier areas reward a second visit.

The game mixes shooting with light platforming, exploration, and a lot of dialogue. Characters react to what you do, and the humor runs through combat, side characters, and cutscenes. Optional side areas, hidden chests, and collectible cosmetics give you reasons to explore off the main path.

High On Life suits players who enjoy story-driven shooters with off-the-wall comedy. A sequel, High On Life 2, continues the story.
