Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars is a turn-based strategy game developed by Palindrome Interactive and published by Kalypso Media. It released on August 28, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The game combines empire management with tactical turn-based combat and card-game elements. In Kingdom mode you command armies, recruit units, manage territory and unlock technologies. When armies meet, the game switches to Combat mode for tactical battles.
Each clan and vampire lord has its own deck of cards, which unlock vampiric powers that can be combined into strong synergies. You can play as the bloodthirsty Dracul, the ancient Nosfernus or the mystical Moroia, and each clan has distinct units, powers and mechanics.
The Campaign tells a gothic story across 12 missions and four environments, seen through the eyes of four vampire lords with their own goals. Outside the story you can try the open-world Sandbox mode or the Skirmish mode for shorter battles.
The game is set in the land of Nemire, where a red moon signals a new vampire war between rival bloodlines. It suits strategy players who like a mix of 4X-style empire building and tactical battles, and anyone drawn to a dark, gothic vampire setting. Steam lists it as single-player only, so it works well for players who prefer to take their time over each turn.
PC (Steam): PC keys activate on Steam.
Consoles: PS4, Xbox One and Switch versions use PlayStation Network, the Microsoft Store or the Nintendo eShop and may be region-locked.
DLC: The Fangs and Bones add-on is sold separately and requires the base game.
