In Sound Mind is a first-person psychological horror game developed by We Create Stuff and published by Modus Games. It released on September 28, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and a Nintendo Switch version followed in October 2022.
You play as Desmond Wales, a therapist who wakes up inside a strange building with no clear way out. While searching for answers, you uncover tapes and records of patients who were all exposed to the same experimental chemical, and their memories pull you into new places. Revisiting these memories slowly reveals what happened in the building and why.
Each memory works as its own chapter with unique puzzles, mechanics, weapons and a boss fight. Instead of simple combat, many threats require you to learn their patterns and solve environmental puzzles to beat them. A hub area connects the chapters, and new tools let you reach places you could not access before.
The soundtrack is by The Living Tombstone, with a distinct song for each story. The tone mixes horror with dark humor, sentient mannequins and a cat named Tonia who helps you along the way.
In Sound Mind is a single-player game. It suits players who enjoy story-driven horror, puzzle solving and creative boss encounters more than nonstop action. A full playthrough leans on exploration, so players who like to search every corner will get the most from it.
PC (Steam): PC keys activate on Steam. The game runs on 64-bit Windows.
Consoles: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch versions are sold as PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store or Nintendo eShop codes, often region-locked.
