Jupiter Hell is a turn-based roguelike shooter developed by ChaosForge and published by Hyperstrange. It is the spiritual successor to DoomRL, left Steam Early Access with its full release on August 5, 2021, and is available on PC (Windows and Linux) and Nintendo Switch.
You play a lone space marine sent to the moons of Jupiter, where outposts have been overrun by demonic forces. Each run descends through procedurally generated levels full of former humans, demons and stranger horrors. Death is permanent, so every run starts fresh.
Every move and shot takes a turn, which makes positioning, cover and ammo management as important as aim. You choose a class, pick traits as you level up and collect weapons you can improve with mods, so each run builds a different character. The presentation borrows from 1980s and 1990s sci-fi films, backed by a heavy metal soundtrack. Difficulty settings and optional challenge modes let both newcomers and veterans tune how punishing each run feels.
Jupiter Hell is single-player and supports Steam Workshop on PC. It suits roguelike fans, players who liked DoomRL, and anyone who wants a tactical shooter where each run tells a new story. Because each class and trait path plays differently, the game rewards repeat runs and experimentation.
