Kiln is an online multiplayer party brawler developed by Double Fine Productions. It launched on April 23, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it was also included with Xbox Game Pass at launch.
The hook is pottery. Before a match, you shape clay on a pottery wheel using simple controls to pull and squeeze it. The finished pot becomes your character's body, and its size and shape decide your attributes, abilities, and play style. A tall jug, a flat plate, a cup, or a wide bowl all fight differently.
The main mode, Quench, puts two teams of four against each other. Teams collect water and carry it across the arena to put out the fire in the opposing team's kiln. Combat is physics-driven rather than based on health bars, so pots chip, crack, and shatter depending on how hard and from which angle they are hit.
Between matches, players gather in a social hub called The Wedge. There you can practice in a dojo, decorate your pots, and share your creations with other players.
Kiln is a multiplayer-only game that needs an internet connection. It suits groups of friends who like chaotic team games, creative tinkering, and the lighthearted style Double Fine is known for. As each match goes on, the arena fills with the shattered fragments of friends and foes alike.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game also supports cross-platform multiplayer.
Consoles: PlayStation 5 codes use PlayStation Network, and Xbox Series X|S codes are redeemed on a Microsoft account.
Online only: There is no offline campaign, so a stable broadband connection is required.
Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, and read our guide on how to activate your CD key. Trailers and updates are on the official Kiln website.
