Kirby Air Riders is a vehicle racing and battle game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo. Directed by Masahiro Sakurai, it launched on November 20, 2025, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, and follows the 2003 GameCube game Kirby Air Ride.
Controls are kept simple. Machines accelerate on their own, while the B button handles braking, drifting, and charging a boost. You attack rivals to fill a Special Gauge, then press Y for a powerful special move, and you can copy enemy abilities to change how you fight on the track.
The game has four main modes. Air Ride is classic 3D racing for up to six players online, and Top Ride is a top-down racer for up to eight online. City Trial drops up to 16 players online into a large open map to collect power-ups and upgrade their machines before a final Stadium event. Road Trip is a new single-player story mode built for this game.
The roster includes 21 playable Riders and 22 machines, and each Rider and machine has its own stats and handling. Local multiplayer is supported in Air Ride, City Trial, and Top Ride, and a January 2026 update added GameShare support.
Kirby Air Riders suits Switch 2 owners who want a party-friendly racer with simple controls and a chaotic battle mode for groups.
