Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is an isometric action-adventure game developed by Crystal Dynamics. It was the first download-only Lara Croft game and was released for PC on September 28, 2010.

Lara joins forces with Totec, a Mayan warrior, to recover an ancient artifact called the Mirror of Smoke and stop the evil spirit Xolotl. The adventure takes place in the jungles and tombs of Central America.

The game blends Tomb Raider staples such as exploration, platforming, and puzzle solving with fast-paced combat seen from a top-down view. Puzzles and traps often allow several solutions, so you can choose your own path.

You fight waves of undead warriors and several large bosses, and you can collect artifacts and relics that boost your abilities. Score challenges in each level add replay value.

The campaign can be played solo or in local co-op, with one player as Lara and the other as Totec. Fans who enjoy it can continue with the follow-up, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.

The game swaps the third-person camera of the main Tomb Raider series for a fixed isometric view, which suits co-op teamwork. In co-op, Totec can throw spears for Lara to climb and use his shield to protect her, while Lara can use her grappling hook to help him cross gaps. Crystal Dynamics' own engine delivers large environments with no load times between areas.
