Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is an action-adventure game published by Crystal Dynamics and developed with PlayEveryWare. It remasters the 2003 original and was released on March 3, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, followed by Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on March 31, 2026.

You control two protagonists: the vampire Kain and his betrayed lieutenant Raziel. The story alternates between them as their paths cross across Nosgoth, and each brings different weapons, powers, and combat styles to the fight.

Gameplay combines melee combat, telekinetic powers, and environmental puzzles in ruined cities, temples, and strongholds. The remaster adds a modern third-person camera that can be switched back to the original fixed camera, plus a Foresight option that highlights the way forward when you get stuck.

The remaster updates the visuals in HD and lets you toggle between new and original graphics at any time. It also adds a photo mode, unlockable alternate skins for Kain and Raziel, a lore reader, maps, and restored lost levels and prototypes from the original development.
