Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is an action-adventure game developed by RGG Studio (Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio) and published by SEGA. It launched on November 8, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
The story follows Kazuma Kiryu after he faked his own death to protect his family. Now working for the Daidoji faction under the codename Joryu, he is pulled back into the underworld when someone threatens to expose him. The plot fills the gap between Yakuza 6 and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Combat is real-time brawling with two styles. Yakuza style is Kiryu's familiar heavy-hitting approach, while the new Agent style adds gadgets such as Spider wires, drones, and explosive cigarettes for crowd control and fast takedowns.
Most of the game takes place in Sotenbori and on the Castle, a hidden floating entertainment district with a Coliseum for team battles. Side content includes the Akame Network requests, karaoke, pocket circuit racing, a casino, and cabaret club visits. It is a single-player game.
It suits fans of the Yakuza series who want a shorter, story-focused Kiryu chapter and anyone who enjoys melee action with plenty of side activities.
PC: PC keys usually activate on Steam. The game needs about 98 GB of storage and a CPU with AVX support.
PlayStation and Xbox: Console codes redeem on PlayStation Network or a Microsoft account. PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Series X|S versions exist.
Story context: It bridges Yakuza 6 and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, so it works well before that game.
