Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is a downhill skiing game developed and published by Megagon Industries, the Berlin studio behind Lonely Mountains: Downhill. It launched on January 21, 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X|S, and a PlayStation 5 version followed in late 2025.
Each run starts at the top of a hand-crafted mountain and ends at the base. You carve through deep powder, skid across frozen lakes, and launch off rocks and ridges. Crashes are frequent and part of the fun, so the loop is simple: fall, respawn at a checkpoint, and try a cleaner line.
The slopes are open rather than fixed tracks. You can follow the obvious route or look for risky shortcuts through trees and over cliffs. Time challenges and online leaderboards reward precise riding, while tricks add a second layer of skill. As you play, you unlock new equipment, outfits, and tricks.
The biggest addition over the original Downhill is online multiplayer for 2 to 8 players with cross-platform play. In co-op, the group works down the mountain together and shares a limited number of checkpoints. In versus mode, everyone races to the bottom. A level editor and Steam Workshop support are also included on PC.
Snow Riders suits players who like short, replayable challenges, calm low-poly scenery, and games that are easy to learn but hard to master. It also works well as a relaxed session with friends.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game needs a 64-bit Windows 10 system and only about 1 GB of storage.
Xbox Series X|S and PS5: Console codes are redeemed on a Microsoft account or PlayStation Network. Online play on console may require Xbox Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus.
DLC: The Highlands expansion and a Supporter Pack are sold separately and need the base game.
Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, then follow our guide on how to activate your CD key. For news and updates, see the official Lonely Mountains website.
